Job Purpose: Sitting within the Housing and Communities Service, this role will manage the delivery of the agreed housing development programme in the Highland area, meeting the objectives of the Local Housing Strategy, the Strategic Housing Investment Plan and the Highland Housing Challenge. The post holder will ensure effective governance and implementation across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and work closely with private land agents. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Housing Development team as a Principal Housing Development Officer to manage the delivery of the affordable housing programme. This post presents an excellent opportunity for a focused and driven individual to use their existing skills and experience and apply them across the Highlands to deliver a development programme to meet both current and future housing needs in both urban and rural areas.

Requirements

  • Education & Qualifications: Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualification OR demonstrate evidence of degree level of educational ability through experience of working in an equivalent job role.
  • Essential Attributes:
  • Significant experience of managing multiple complex projects.
  • Experience of partnership working across the public and private sectors.
  • Experience of leading and managing high performing teams or collaborative partnerships.
  • Experience of negotiating complex land acquisitions and/or major building contracts.
  • Driving licence and/or access to personal transport and be willing to be flexible about travel for work and training purposes.
  • Experience of budget/resource management.
