Requirements Qualified Early Years Practitioners should hold a recognised qualification in Childcare and Education (e.g., HNC, NNEB, SVQ 3) and will be paid on grade HC0535. Unqualified workers employed as Early Years Practitioners are expected to work towards one of the above qualifications within an agreed timeframe and will be paid on grade HC0435. The Early Years Practitioner must hold or be willing to apply for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Existing registrants should inform the SSSC of any employment changes.
