Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Fire & Security Engineer role based in Inverness. The Fire & Security Engineer will install, commission, service, and maintain fire alarm and security systems, including intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, and related equipment. Typical tasks include diagnosing faults, performing routine inspections, testing system performance, completing accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role also involves responding to call-outs, supporting customers with technical queries, and working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality, safe, and reliable solutions on every job.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in installing, commissioning, servicing, and maintaining fire alarm, intruder, CCTV, and access control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant fire and security regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Proficiency in fault-finding, problem-solving, and using appropriate tools and test equipment.
- Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach when working on-site and handling service visits.
- Good time management, planning, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally for installations, maintenance, and call-outs.
- Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications in electrical, fire, or security systems engineering; previous experience in a similar role is highly beneficial.
