As a Post-16 Support Worker in a supported living home, you'll support young individuals transitioning to independent living, ensuring their personal growth and well-being. You'll develop personalized care plans, offering emotional and trauma-informed support, and help them develop life skills like budgeting, cooking, and job readiness.
You’ll assist with education and employment goals, respond to crises, and coordinate healthcare. Empowering residents to make decisions and advocating for their needs is key. You’ll also maintain accurate records and ensure safety, cleanliness, and security within the home.
Collaboration within the team is essential, and you’ll follow Lone Worker protocols. Qualifications include a passion for supporting young people, strong communication skills, and a willingness to complete an NVQ Level 3 within the first year. Experience with young people in care is desirable, and First Aid certification is a plus. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
