As the Water Treatment Engineer, you will take full ownership of all water treatment systems on-site. This will include the operation, maintenance, and compliance of water systems, with a particular focus on cooling towers. You will ensure that the building's water systems are managed effectively, safely, and in line with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of water treatment systems, including cooling towers and closed systems
- Conduct regular water sampling, testing, and monitoring to ensure compliance with water hygiene and Legionella regulations
- Implement and manage effective water treatment programs to prevent scaling, corrosion, and bacterial growth
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and descaling of cooling towers
- Monitor and maintain chemical dosing systems to ensure optimal water quality
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to cooling tower operation and efficiency
- Ensure the site complies with all relevant legislation, including ACOP L8 and HSG274
- Maintain accurate records of water testing, monitoring, and maintenance activities
- Provide detailed reports and updates to the site management team
Required Skills:
- Relevant water treatment qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQs, or equivalent)
