We are currently looking to bring on a Senior Refrigeration Engineer to join our growing team. This is a key technical role for an experienced and highly capable engineer who takes pride in problem-solving, quality workmanship, and delivering reliable service. You’ll be working across a range of commercial and industrial sites, supporting service, maintenance, and complex fault-finding tasks.
What We’re Looking For: The successful candidate will be technically strong, methodical in approach, and confident working independently on advanced refrigeration systems. This is a senior role and requires someone with a deep understanding of refrigeration systems, capable of mentoring junior engineers and delivering exceptional standards under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), service, and breakdown works on a variety of refrigeration systems (including cold rooms, display cabinets, chillers, and walk-ins).
- Advanced fault finding and diagnostics on complex systems.
- Carry out system modifications, component replacements, and performance optimizations.
- Supervise or mentor junior engineers when required.
- Complete service reports, job sheets, and compliance documentation accurately and on time.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with HSE guidelines and company policies.
- Liaise with clients and internal teams in a professional and solution-focused manner.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- F-Gas certification (2079 CAT 1).
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a refrigeration engineering role, ideally with commercial/retail/industrial systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable:
- CO2 and hydrocarbon experience.
- Ammonia (NH3) systems knowledge.
- Electrical qualifications or strong electrical competency.
- Experience in mentoring or leading engineering teams.
What We Offer:
- Salary £50k to £52k per annum
- 40 hours per week - Monday – Friday. Your hours will generally be between 08:30am - 5.30pm.
- 33 x days holiday (Includes 8 x BH)

- Overtime paid at 1.5x your salary.
