An established engineering and plant services provider is seeking an experienced Mobile Fitter to join its service team, based from a North West depot. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting plant and specialist equipment used within the construction sector, both on customer sites and within a workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on plant and specialist equipment
- Attend customer sites across the UK and occasionally overseas (including overnight stays when required)
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
- Prepare equipment for hire or sale when working from the workshop
- Work effectively within a busy service environment, meeting deadlines and quality standards
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and customers to ensure work is completed efficiently
Skills & Experience
- Time-served Mechanical Fitter or equivalent experience
- Background in plant maintenance or heavy equipment servicing preferred
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel as part of the role
Qualifications & Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (minimum)
- CSCS card (preferred)
Working Pattern
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Overtime and weekend work may be required
