You will be a hands-on field engineer responsible for the planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive fault response, and small works installation across a portfolio of commercial clients in and around Bristol. Working across fire alarm and security systems.

Service & Maintenance

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable), intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently, ensuring systems are returned to full working order with minimal disruption to the client.
  • Complete accurate service records and maintenance reports on a PDA or job management system.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant British Standards (BS 5839, BS EN 50131, BS 7671).

Reactive Works

  • Respond promptly to reactive call-outs within agreed SLA timescales.
  • Liaise professionally with clients on-site, providing clear communication around fault findings and remedial actions.
  • Escalate complex technical issues appropriately and follow through to resolution.

Small Works & Installations

  • Carry out small works installations including additions and alterations to existing fire and security systems.
  • Install new devices, panels, and ancillary equipment as required on minor projects.
  • Ensure all installations meet current standards and are handed over to the client with appropriate documentation.

Compliance & Administration

  • Maintain accurate site logs, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with company health & safety policies.
  • Raise quotes for additional works identified during site visits.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota as required.

  • £35,000 - £45,000 salary depending on experience.
