We are seeking a Training / Safety Manager to drive a strong Health & Safety culture across our UK sites. This role focuses on behavioural safety, training new engineers, and upskilling existing ones, with an emphasis on influencing safe behaviours and ensuring compliance with EHS standards. You will also ensure a positive safety culture across our sites and lead safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct vetting, onboarding, and practical training for engineers
- Develop and update training modules and plans for engineers
- Conduct site safety audits and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
- Promote and lead safety culture initiatives, driving employee engagement in safety
- Provide coaching on safety behaviours, conducting safety observations and toolbox talks
- Lead investigations into incidents, ensuring lessons are learned and applied
- Support the Group EHS Manager with EHS improvement plans and cultural change initiatives
- Ensure all mandatory H&S training is completed on time
Key Performance Indicators:
- 100% compliance in audits and risk assessments
- Reduction in lost time injuries (LTIFR) and recordable incidents (TRIR)
- 15% annual increase in near miss and hazard reporting
- 100% completion of mandatory training within 90 days of hire
- 95% closure rate for corrective actions within 30 days
- 80% participation in safety programs
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety role, preferably in construction or industrial environments
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities
- Experience with risk assessments and UK EHS legislation
- Confident communicator and skilled facilitator
- Knowledge of CDM and Building Safety Act is a plus
