We are looking for experienced Pump Engineers in the South-West to join our team for a potential long-term project. The role involves working on wastewater, sewage, and surface water pumping systems, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of packaged pumping stations. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for engineers who enjoy working across multiple sites and solving technical challenges on the go.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain pumping stations, including submersible pumps, control panels, and telemetry systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electric and mechanical pump systems on-site.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure pumps and stations operate efficiently.
- Assist with testing and commissioning of new pumping systems.
- Maintain accurate service records and reports for clients and internal teams.
- Work closely with project managers, clients, and contractors to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
- Adhere to all health & safety regulations and site-specific procedures.
- Provide technical guidance on pump selection and performance when required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of submersible pumps, sewage/wastewater systems, and control panels.
- Experience in commissioning, fault-finding, and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Full UK driving license.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Awareness of health & safety regulations and safe working practices.
Desirable
- NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with Xylem/Flygt or similar pump systems.
- Previous work on adoptable or private packaged pumping station projects.
