Overview

Our client is an established accountancy practice offering more than most mid-sized firms. They combine the service and expertise you would expect from a large organisation with the approachability and personal involvement of a mid-sized practice.

They are seeking an experienced Audit Senior with a background in accountancy practice, used to working across multiple clients within audit. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys client interaction and being part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

  • ACCA/ACA part-qualified
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards
  • At least 3 years\’ auditing experience working across multiple clients
  • Confident in leading audit engagements from planning through to completion
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards
  • Experience in preparing and auditing consolidated financial statements
  • Competent in supervising and mentoring junior audit staff
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas and functions
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational and presentational skills
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients at different levels of accounting knowledge
  • Self-managing with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

What will your role look like?

  • Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion for a portfolio of clients, reporting directly to manager/partner
  • Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, providing guidance and performance feedback
  • Identify and communicate audit issues and recommendations to clients and senior management
  • Prepare financial statements from trial balance ensuring disclosures are in accordance with financial reporting standards
  • Liaise with clients to build strong relationships and ensure timely delivery of audit work
  • Assist in developing audit strategies and risk assessments tailored to each engagement
  • Assist in implementing new AI tools
  • Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and ensure work is completed to a high standard and on schedule
