Founded in 2010, Highgate is a 100% remote, 'work anywhere' organisation. Highgate is a value-added reseller in the IT Channel, selling products and services to businesses across different sectors. Highgate has achieved 15 years of consecutive growth and finished their FY25 on £31 million, with a headcount of 54. Highgate is looking forward to another year of growth, targeting a £40 million turnover and expecting its team to grow to 70 people.

Overview

The Finance Director will lead and oversee all financial operations, ensuring robust financial governance, compliance, and strategic support for business growth. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to drive process improvements across finance functions while partnering with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Credit Management
    • Oversee Credit Control and Credit Insurance processes.
    • Support Credit Manager in decision-making for Customers under CVA, bad debt cases, legal letters, and interest charge invoices.
    • Manage non-standard credit terms requests.
    • Cover Order Approvals when Credit Manager is out of office.
    • Conduct credit analysis and support strategic decisions.
    • Collaborate with Operations Director on process improvements.
  • Accounts Payable
    • Manage alternative supplier processing and payment management.
    • Enhance AP processes, ensuring compliance.
    • Oversee payroll and commission adjustments.
    • Approve and manage customer upfront invoice requests.
    • Review high-level reporting and ensure accuracy.
    • Support month-end closure activities.
  • Tax & Compliance
    • Manage VAT returns for UK, Germany, and Netherlands.
    • Ensure correct tax pathways for Euro bills and create streamlined processes.
    • Oversee annual returns and financial year-end activities.
    • Maintain control accounts and manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
    • Ensure compliance for Northern Ireland and handle P11D and BIK reporting.
    • Lead forecasting activities, including cash flow projections.
    • Manage cost code structures and ensure accurate allocation.
    • Drive improvements in financial reporting and analytics.
    • Oversee business insurance and cyber essentials renewal.
    • Ensure compliance with credit insurance requirements.
  • Audit & Governance
    • Manage internal and external audits.
    • Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Strategic Projects
    • Develop and implement new processes to support business growth.
    • Partner with senior leadership on operational and financial improvements.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of credit management, accounts payable, and compliance.
  • Expertise in VAT, payroll, and statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead process improvements and manage audits effectively.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in financial management within a complex organisation.
  • Experience in the IT Channel/Reseller (preferred/advantageous).

£100,000.00+ (depending on experience)
