What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage the day‑to‑day running of the home, including standards and quality of care, recruitment and training, communication with the team, premises, and financial matters.
  • Recognise and assess residents’ needs, working with professional agencies and relatives to formulate personalised care plans.
  • Ensure the highest level of personal care is delivered following individual care plans, with polite, friendly, warm and supportive contact.
  • Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements (HACCP, COSHH, Health and Safety, Care Standards Act).
  • Monitor the effective running of the home, ensuring compliance with environmental health, infection control, building control, planning and health and safety regulations, and carry out risk assessments regularly.
  • Maintain all legal and statutory records and documents (insurance certificates, registration documents, safety guides, complaints logs) and liaise with CSCI inspectors.
  • Administer and manage medication for residents, keeping accurate records, stock control and prescribing documentation.
  • Create and maintain effective communication and relationships with residents, relatives, employees and external professionals.
  • Oversee staff rosters, ensuring adequate coverage, managing holidays and sickness.
  • Support residents with their personal financial arrangements, ensuring confidentiality and honesty.
