JOB TITLE: CLINICAL LEAD

REPORTING TO: MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for the implementation of high standards of evidence based nursing care, To work with the nurses and care staff, to enable the development of a team fit for purpose to deliver a quality, effective and responsive service to meet the needs of service users. To supervise, monitor and evaluate care delivered to service users, ensuring legal requirements are met.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Clinical Lead Deputy Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered healthcare professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care while supporting the day-to-day management of our service.

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will provide clinical leadership, mentor and support staff, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and help create a safe, positive, and caring environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service.
  • Provide strong clinical leadership and act as a role model for the nursing and care teams.
  • Ensure high standards of person-centred care are consistently delivered.
  • Lead and participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and governance activities.
  • Monitor medication management and clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support staff recruitment, induction, supervision, training, and performance management.
  • Promote a positive culture focused on dignity, respect, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, safeguarding requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence.

About You

You will be a motivated and experienced healthcare professional with excellent leadership and communication skills who can keep calm and collective and experience in adult nursing in a care home setting.

Essential requirements

  • Registered Nurse (NMC Registered Mental health or Adult Nurse) with a valid UK registration.
  • Previous experience in a senior clinical or leadership role within a care home.
  • Significant experience leading or working within a dementia care environment, with a thorough understanding of person-centred dementia care, behaviour support, meaningful engagement, and regulatory best practice.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding, person-centred care.

Desirable

  • Experience preparing for and supporting regulatory inspections.
  • Leadership or management qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Experience with quality assurance and continuous improvement programmes.
