The Qualifications Manager will be responsible for supervision and support of the Qualifications team to ensure that all qualifications, apprenticeships and assessment materials are valid, developed to the highest quality and fit for purpose which will enable the business to meet its objectives and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. They will be expected to operate with a high level of autonomy, proactivity interpreting regulatory updates and identifying improvements to ensure Highfield meets its compliance and strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate will bring excellent knowledge of vocational qualifications and apprenticeships, along with over five years’ experience in the Awarding Organisation or education sector. They will play a key role in decision‑making and cross‑team collaboration, supported by strong time, people, and resource management skills. High attention to detail, strong literacy, and excellent written and verbal communication are also essential.
Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
- Work across internal teams and external stakeholders to meet all regulatory commitments and maintain Highfield’s best‑practice reputation.
- Lead and support the Qualifications team to ensure all qualifications, EPAs and assessment materials are valid, current and fit for purpose.
- Oversee risk management and conflicts of interest in qualification and assessment design.
- Plan, prioritise, and review team workloads to deliver objectives efficiently.
- Carry out full line‑management duties, including 1:1s, performance management, HR matters, and inbox cover.
- Identify training needs and provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance.
- Support the Senior Qualifications Manager by horizon‑scanning for opportunities and strategic priorities.
- Recommend and implement process improvements across the team.
- Lead on quality sign‑off processes.
- Develop, manage, and review qualifications, apprenticeships, and assessment materials in line with regulatory and industry standards.
- Produce supporting resources such as learning, delivery, assessment, and quality assurance materials.
