We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways project in Winchester. This is a freelance role for a hands-on engineer with strong civils, earthworks, and structures experience. The role will provide exposure to a high-profile infrastructure project, working closely with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee day-to-day site operations on a major highways project.
- Carry out setting out and surveying activities accurately.
- Support project delivery for civils, earthworks, and structures.
- Assist with quantity surveying (QS) tasks, including measurement, cost monitoring, and reporting.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
- Utilize Dalux software for site documentation, reporting, and coordination (desirable).
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and quality standards.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on major highways or civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong civils, earthworks, and structures knowledge.
- Previous experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors preferred.
- Setting out experience is a must.
- Experience with quantity surveying (QS) tasks on-site.
- Competent with site software, ideally Dalux.
- Eligible for CIS payment (freelance).
