Lead the Delivery of Safety-Critical Nuclear Projects

Are you a Senior EC&I Engineer looking to take the lead on technically complex projects within one of the UK's most exciting and highly regulated industries? We're seeking an experienced Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering team delivering innovative solutions across major nuclear and defence programmes. You'll play a key role in designing, integrating and supporting high-integrity EC&I systems that underpin some of the UK's most critical infrastructure. The Role

As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to commissioning and operational support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the design and delivery of Electrical, Control & Instrumentation systems for safety-critical facilities
  • Producing and reviewing technical documentation, specifications and engineering calculations
  • Contributing to safety case documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex projects
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
  • Liaising with clients, regulators, suppliers and project stakeholders
  • Supporting installation, testing and commissioning activities where required
  • Driving engineering best practice, continuous improvement and technical excellence

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have experience in:

  • Designing and delivering EC&I systems within highly regulated industries
  • Nuclear, defence, energy or other safety-critical environments
  • Functional Safety standards including IEC 61508 and BS EN 61511
  • Control systems, instrumentation and electrical engineering design
  • Producing engineering specifications, reports and technical documentation
  • Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Managing technical interfaces with clients and suppliers
  • Solving complex engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation or a related discipline. Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards professional registration) is desirable.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.
