Job Title: Sub Agent Location: Coton Village, Cambridge Contract Type: Full-Time, – Freelance Duration: Starting 18th August – End of January (Approx. 23 Weeks) Working Hours: Day Shifts Rate: Competitive – Inside IR35 Project Overview: An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sub Agent to join a highways improvement scheme in Coton Village, Cambridge. This is a vital role on a small but active site, responsible for overseeing site operations, managing key stakeholders, and ensuring programme delivery from mobilisation through to final demobilisation and handover. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage daily site activities, coordinating between site teams, designers, and client representatives Ensure the project is delivered in line with programme, budget, and specification Oversee health, safety, environmental, and quality standards on site Support the Site Supervisor and manage subcontractors and direct labour Ensure accurate records are kept – including daily site diaries, progress updates, and quality assurance documentation Assist in planning and implementing temporary works Liaise with the client, local authorities, and utility providers as required Manage and support the demobilisation and handover process in January Essential Requirements: Previous experience as a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer on highways or civil engineering projects Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification SMSTS or SSSTS certification CSCS card (Black or Gold) Strong planning, communication, and leadership skills Good understanding of NEC contracts and construction programming Experience with temporary works coordination (advantageous) Full UK driving licence Additional Information: This role is Inside IR35 Required to start 18th August Likely to be required through to end of January 2026 to support final stages and demobilisation
