We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join the delivery team on the £30m A382 Major Road Network (MRN) scheme in Newton Abbot. This is a key infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity and supporting local growth.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Works Manager, the Site Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring all subcontractors deliver work safely, efficiently, and in line with required standards.

- Freelance / contract role
- £350 per day (Inside IR35)
- 18-month duration
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors on site to ensure works are delivered to programme and specification
- Ensure compliance with minimum standards, health & safety requirements, and quality expectations
- Monitor and enforce safe systems of work, including RAMS adherence
- Carry out daily site inspections and proactively address issues
- Deliver start-of-shift briefings and toolbox talks to site teams
- Maintain accurate daily site diaries and records
- Access and review contract documentation via Procure
- Liaise with the Works Manager, engineers, and wider project team to ensure smooth delivery
- Support quality assurance processes and ensure works meet required standards
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor on highways projects
- Strong background in highways and drainage works (essential)
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations within civil engineering environments
- Experience managing subcontractors and site activities
- Basic IT skills (ability to complete digital diaries and use document management systems such as Procure)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Desirable
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
- CSCS card (relevant supervisory level)
- First Aid at Work
- Experience on major road or infrastructure schemes
