About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Agent / Sub Agent to join a growing team delivering multiple highways infrastructure projects across the Cumbria region. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract with a strong pipeline of work, offering stability through rolling 6-month contract extensions. The role is a mix of office-based planning and site supervision, requiring someone who is equally comfortable preparing project documentation as they are managing operations on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the safe and efficient delivery of highways projects.
- Prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate subcontractors, site teams, and project stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and maintain accurate site records.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Support project planning and programme delivery.
- Attend occasional night shifts as required (enhanced rates apply).
Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Site Agent or Sub Agent on highways or civil engineering projects.
- Strong experience producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
- CSCS Gold Card (or above).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
