About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent / Sub Agent to join a growing team delivering multiple highways infrastructure projects across the Cumbria region. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract with a strong pipeline of work, offering stability through rolling 6-month contract extensions. The role is a mix of office-based planning and site supervision, requiring someone who is equally comfortable preparing project documentation as they are managing operations on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the safe and efficient delivery of highways projects.
  • Prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, site teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and maintain accurate site records.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Support project planning and programme delivery.
  • Attend occasional night shifts as required (enhanced rates apply).

Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Site Agent or Sub Agent on highways or civil engineering projects.
  • Strong experience producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
  • CSCS Gold Card (or above).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
