We're currently looking for an experienced SolidWorks Draughtsman to join a specialist engineering team on an initial rolling one-month contract, with the potential for longer-term work as projects develop. This role will be focused on producing high-quality 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks for industrial steelwork, including platforms, stairs and handrails. Although the role can largely be carried out remotely, candidates will need to attend regular meetings and occasional workshop visits in Sheffield, so applicants should be based within a reasonable commuting distance.
Responsibilities- Produce detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Create accurate fabrication and detailing drawings for industrial steelwork.
- Attend weekly project meetings and ad hoc design reviews.
- Support the workshop by resolving drawing and manufacturing queries.
- Work closely with engineers and project teams to ensure drawings are accurate and delivered on time.
- Maintain drawing revisions and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proven experience using SolidWorks for modelling and detailing.
- Experience producing fabrication/manufacturing drawings.
- Previous work on steel structures, platforms, staircases, handrails or similar industrial projects.
- Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Able to attend meetings and workshop visits in Sheffield when required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Rolling 1-month contract with the potential for extension.
- Up to £40 per hour.
- Outside IR35.
- 39 hours per week.
- Immediate start available.
