Role Overview
An experienced Setting Out Engineer is urgently required to support a National Highways project near Newbury Bridge. The position involves night shift work over a four‑week period and will focus on crash barrier setting out, trial hole marking, and associated surveying and logging tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately set out crash barriers in accordance with project specifications.
- Mark out and log trial holes and other related works.
- Conduct surveying activities to support site operations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all setting out and surveying work.
- Liaise effectively with the site management team to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on highways or civil infrastructure projects.
- Competence in setting out for crash barriers and trial holes.
- Strong general surveying and data recording skills.
- Experience working on National Highways schemes is highly desirable.
- Prior experience collaborating with major contractors such as Kier is advantageous.
- Full availability for night shift work (7:30 PM – 4:00 AM) for the duration of the contract.
- Ability to start immediately.
