We are seeking a Senior Authorised Person (Electrical) to support a nuclear decommissioning site in North Wales. This is a 12-month, site-based contract role, requiring eligibility for BPSS clearance. Previous nuclear or decommissioning experience is desirable.
Role Overview
Act as the duty holder for electrical safety, ensuring the safe operation, isolation, and control of HV and LV systems. You will provide technical leadership and support the permit-to-work process, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of site activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as SAP for HV/LV systems, including isolation, earthing, and re-energisation
- Plan and manage switching and isolation activities
- Review and approve electrical aspects of permits, RAMS, and switching schedules
- Support permit issue, coordination, and close-out
- Monitor contractor compliance with site safety rules
- Investigate incidents and support continuous improvement
Requirements
Essential:
- Current or previous SAP authorisation (HV/LV)
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety rules and isolation procedures
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and SLDs
- Strong safety leadership and risk awareness
Desirable:
- Experience in nuclear, decommissioning, or regulated environments
- Permit-to-work and control of work experience
- Knowledge of temporary electrical systems
