Role Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Commissioning Manager to support a major nuclear defence programme at AWE Burghfield. The role involves managing and coordinating commissioning activities across specialist equipment, building services, and control systems on a highly regulated site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commissioning work packages and supplier activities
  • Ensure compliance with AWE procedures and ONR LC21
  • Review and approve test documentation
  • Plan, coordinate, and witness FAT/SAT
  • Integrate commissioning activities into the project programme
  • Track readiness, report progress, and resolve test failures
  • Chair commissioning and stakeholder reviews
  • Ensure safe systems of work during testing and commissioning

Requirements

  • Strong experience commissioning large, complex facilities
  • Background in nuclear, defence, or similarly regulated sectors
  • Proven ability to lead multi-discipline commissioning teams
  • Solid knowledge of commissioning methodologies
  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • SC or DV clearance preferred (or willing to obtain)
  • Full UK driving licence
