We are currently seeking a Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a range of construction and infrastructure projects across Kent. This is a flexible, freelance opportunity ideal for an experienced QS looking to take ownership of multiple projects and deliver high-quality commercial support from tender through to final account.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full commercial responsibility from tender handover to final account
- Monitor cost efficiency across operational teams
- Cashflow and sales forecasting to support financial planning
- Submit monthly payment applications and manage valuation cycles
- Produce regular cost/value reports
- Assess and raise sub-contract certificates
- Budget management, including procurement of subcontractors and contract preparation
- Review and negotiate contract/sub-contract T&Cs, particularly NEC3/4 contracts
- Attend internal and external meetings with key stakeholders
- Promote safe working practices within the commercial team
- Liaise with internal departments and assist with other duties as required
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree qualified in a relevant Cost/Commercial discipline
- Minimum 2 years' experience working across Water / Wastewater Projects
- Strong understanding of NEC3/4 contract administration
- Proven ability to work autonomously and to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence in presenting reports to internal and external stakeholders
