Quality Inspector - Welding & Manufacturing
Location: Leicester (Radar Road)
Contract: 12 Months
IR35: Inside IR35
Pay Rate: £40.00 - £45.00 per hour Umbrella (£30.33 - £34.07 per hour PAYE Equivalent)
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for UK SC Clearance
We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to support a major engineering programme based at Leicester (Radar Road). This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile project, ensuring the quality of manufactured and welded components supplied into a regulated engineering environment.
Working closely with suppliers and project teams, you will be responsible for reviewing quality documentation, inspecting manufacturing activities, and ensuring compliance with project and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify supplier quality documentation.
- Inspect welded and machined components to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Review Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Assess weld schedules, weld maps and associated Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Work with suppliers to ensure manufacturing and inspection activities meet required quality standards.
- Support quality assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify quality issues and assist in driving corrective actions where required.
- Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate and compliant with project requirements.
Essential Requirements
- CSWIP 3.2, CSWIP 3.1 or PCL Level 2 (Weld Inspection) qualification.
- Experience reviewing weld schedules, weld maps and associated welding procedures.
- Strong understanding of Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Experience inspecting both welded and machined components.
- Previous experience working within a project environment managing supplier quality documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation review skills.
- Eligible to obtain UK Security Check (SC) Clearance.
