We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support ongoing mechanical maintenance, assembly and installation works on a major industrial site in Culham. This is a long-term contract opportunity working within a highly technical engineering environment.

The Role

  • Carry out mechanical fitting, assembly and installation activities
  • Support the maintenance, modification and improvement of mechanical equipment
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Work to a high standard of accuracy while following quality procedures
  • Work safely in accordance with written safe systems of work and site procedures
  • Liaise with other engineering teams to complete work efficiently and safely
  • Complete maintenance and quality documentation accurately

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter in an industrial or engineering environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and assembly drawings
  • Good understanding of quality assurance processes and documentation
  • Experience working under Written Safe Systems of Work or Method Statements
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel

Desirable

  • Knowledge of vacuum systems and good vacuum practices
  • Experience working with industrial cooling systems

This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term engineering project, with work available through to June 2027. Immediate starts are available, subject to BPSS clearance and successful onboarding.
