Commissioning Technician (Mechanical) - AWE Project | Contract Opportunity
AWE Site £49/hour Inside IR35 £100/day Accommodation Allowance 11-Day Fortnight SC Clearance Preferred
Are you an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Technician looking to work on one of the UK's most high-profile and technically complex projects? We're supporting the delivery of the MENSA project at AWE and are looking for skilled Commissioning Technicians to join the team on a long-term contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a major nuclear infrastructure programme where safety, quality and technical excellence are at the heart of everything.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Commissioning Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting commissioning activities across installation, testing, commissioning and handover phases of the project lifecycle. You'll be responsible for:
- Executing mechanical commissioning tests safely and to schedule
- Completing commissioning records, test documentation and raw data capture
- Supporting commissioning documentation and LTQR package compilation
- Working in line with approved procedures, standards and SSoWs
- Identifying and reporting technical or safety issues promptly
- Supporting safe site operations and contributing to ESH initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Mechanical commissioning experience within complex industrial environments
- Level 3 qualification in an engineering or construction discipline
- IOSH Working Safely / Managing Safely or CCNSG Safety Passport
- CSCS affiliated card
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings
- Highly desirable: Nuclear industry experience
- Previous nuclear site commissioning experience
- Existing SC Clearance
