The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Senior Electrical Designer to support a major UK nuclear programme focused on uranium enrichment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will report to the Project Lead Engineer and be responsible for delivering safe, practical and high-quality electrical design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce electrical design deliverables including SLDs, schematics, cable schedules, material take-offs, BCDs and equipment/cable routing layouts.
- Develop and review electrical designs in accordance with project, company and industry standards.
- Produce and check drawings in line with company procedures.
- Undertake 3D modelling using software such as AVEVA E3D, Navisworks, Revit or similar.
- Liaise with other engineering disciplines to coordinate designs and resolve technical issues.
- Provide technical input throughout the design and project lifecycle.
- Ensure safety, quality and risk management are at the forefront of all design activities.
Requirements
- 10+ years' relevant electrical design experience, ideally within nuclear, energy or another highly regulated sector.
- ONC/OND, HNC/HND or equivalent electrical engineering/design qualification.
- Strong CAD experience, with 3D modelling capability highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of LV electrical design and installation requirements.
- Experience producing electrical design documentation and drawings.
- Good understanding of UK electrical legislation, standards and nuclear design requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Security Clearance: Candidates must hold or be able to achieve the required level of security clearance.
