We are recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support delivery of the Sellafield Product and Residue Store Retreatment Plant (SRP). You'll be embedded within the PPP delivery team, providing hands-on mechanical engineering expertise across design, manufacture, testing and integration of complex plant and equipment. This is a long-term opportunity on a high-profile nuclear programme with real national impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical engineering work packages to agreed time, cost and quality
- Produce high-quality design deliverables (specs, drawings, analyses, verification)
- Develop safe, fit-for-purpose, integrated design solutions
- Ensure designs are suitable for manufacture, construction, commissioning, operation and decommissioning
- Manage and direct designers producing mechanical plant and equipment drawings
- Support manufacturing, inspection and test technical queries
- Prepare and check works test and integrated test documentation
- Work closely with CE&I and multi-disciplinary teams
Essential Experience
- Strong experience with Autodesk Inventor
- Experience using Autodesk Vault (Basic or Pro)
- Knowledge of BS 8888 / GPS ISO
- Mechanical plant and equipment design experience
- Experience supporting manufacture, testing and issue resolution
- Works testing and integrated testing documentation experience
- Able to work primarily office-based in Warrington
- Willingness to travel to suppliers (including occasional overseas visits)

- Nuclear industry experience
- Safety case knowledge
- Sellafield engineering standards experience
- Manufacturing drawing checking
- Alpha glovebox design experience
- Knowledge of SoMSR, CDM, PUWER, LOLER
