We are seeking a Freelance Night Shift Site Engineer to supervise and manage night-time construction activities on a highway project in Gloucester. The role requires hands-on experience in highways and earthworks, with proven competency in site management and compliance. Candidates must hold a valid SMSTS certificate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee night shift construction activities including earthworks, drainage, paving, and other highway works.
- Ensure works are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications and drawings.
- Monitor progress against project schedules and report deviations.
- Supervise and coordinate site teams, including subcontractors and laborers.
- Conduct briefings, toolbox talks, and enforce safety standards for night shift crews.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project milestones.
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Identify site issues and propose timely technical solutions.
- Ensure construction methods meet quality and compliance standards.

- Previous experience managing night shift operations preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and compliance standards.
