Senior Commissioning Engineer (Contract) at AWE Burghfield

Role Overview
Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you will play a key role in the commissioning of electrical and control systems, working closely with construction teams, other trades, and the client to ensure safe, compliant, and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimum 5 years' hands-on commissioning experience, including electrical systems and control panels
- Loop testing, fault finding, and strong working knowledge of process control systems
- Support the Construction Manager with supervision of on-site electrical installation works in line with design documentation and client standards
- Commissioning of PLC control systems, HMI and SCADA during initial commissioning phases (Siemens S7 – TIA Portal experience essential)
- Fault finding and modifications within control panels
- Electrical testing, fault diagnosis, calibration, and instrumentation set-up
- Instrumentation setup including:
- Pressure transducers
- Flow meters
- Differential pressure and vacuum systems
- Pneumatics
Minimum Clearance
SC Clearance (must be current or eligible)

- Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship
- City & Guilds - Inspection & Testing
- City & Guilds - 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- CSCS Professional Persons / ECS Electrical
- SMSTS – Desirable
- First Aid at Work (3 Day)
- Onsite Training (Provided)
- Test Team Leader (TTL)
- Appointed Person (Commissioning) - NP(C)
- Electrical Safety Training
