About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer (EC&I) to join the team at Sellafield. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient commissioning of control, instrumentation, and electrical systems within one of the UK's most complex and highly regulated industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Witness and verify vendor testing at works test stage.
  • Prepare plant commissioning test specifications.
  • Conduct early inspections of site installations to support timely system handovers.
  • Execute testing activities during the Integrated Plant Commissioning phase.
  • Identify faults, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate commissioning technicians and support resources.
  • Initiate and manage Field Observation Books (FOBs).
  • Validate working-level instructions and ensure accurate application and removal of temporary commissioning aids.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in nuclear EC&I systems commissioning.
  • Background in highly regulated industries - nuclear experience essential, Sellafield experience preferable.
  • Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent).
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and Excel-based calculations.
  • Familiarity with project management principles (APM membership desirable).
  • IOSH Working or Managing Safely, SMSTS or SSSTS, and valid ECS Supervisory Card required.
  • Must be able to obtain BPSS security clearance.
