A leading European data centre contractor is seeking an experienced Commissioning Planner to support the delivery of a major hyperscale data centre project in Skien. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting on commissioning schedules, ensuring all MEP and mission-critical systems progress in line with project milestones and expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed commissioning schedules covering all mechanical, electrical, and specialist systems.
- Integrate commissioning activities into the overall project programme and coordinate closely with construction and MEP delivery teams.
- Track progress against commissioning milestones, identify delays, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Manage commissioning workflows, documentation, and readiness checks to support phased handover.
- Facilitate weekly commissioning meetings and produce progress dashboards, lookaheads, and critical path updates.
- Interface with client commissioning teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure sequencing and testing requirements are fully aligned.
- Support the development of commissioning plans, method statements, and SAT/FAT tracking.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with project quality, safety, and procedural standards.
- Contribute to risk reviews and maintain accurate reporting on commissioning risks, dependencies, and resourcing.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Planner, MEP Planner, or similar role on data centres or complex M&E-heavy projects.
- Strong proficiency with Primavera P6, commissioning tracking tools, and project reporting systems.
- Solid understanding of MEP systems, testing and commissioning workflows, and mission-critical infrastructure.
- Ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders and manage commissioning interfaces in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present clear progress updates to senior management and clients.
- Experience working on European or international projects is an advantage.
- Right to work in the EU/EEA preferred.
