Freelance Senior Project Manager - Transportation / Highways
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working Available) | Contract: Minimum 6 months | IR35: Inside | Experience: 3-7 years
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Project Manager to join our P3M Complex Projects team, delivering high-profile transportation and highways projects. This role offers the chance to lead challenging projects while applying your NEC3/NEC4 expertise, with flexible hybrid working and reimbursed expenses.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex highways and transportation projects from initiation to completion.
- Apply NEC3 and NEC4 project management principles across the full project lifecycle.
- Advise clients on cost, programme, risks, and issues.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage stakeholder communications, including clients, contractors, and partners.
- Produce regular reporting, including project programmes, risk registers, and progress updates.
- Develop and implement delivery plans, challenge the status quo, and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 3-7 years' experience managing complex transportation/highways projects.
- NEC3 and NEC4 accredited or equivalent project management experience.
- Proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Based in or able to work from Birmingham.
- Must operate Inside IR35.
- Available for a minimum 6-month contract.
- Hybrid working and expenses reimbursed.
