Associate Director Architecture Data Centres

I'm working with a global multidisciplinary consultancy looking to appoint an Associate Director within its Data Centre Architecture team.

Data centres continue to be a major growth area, with increasing demand for hyperscale, colocation and mission-critical facilities. This is an opportunity to take a senior role in the delivery of complex projects, work closely with major clients and play a part in the continued growth of the business in this sector.

The role

You'll be involved across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage site feasibility and campus masterplanning through to concept and detailed design, technical coordination, construction and handover.

Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you'll take the lead on project delivery, ensuring designs are technically robust, coordinated and aligned with client requirements. You'll also build client relationships, support bids and new business opportunities, and help develop the wider Architecture team.

It's a role that combines hands-on design expertise with project leadership, client engagement and the opportunity to influence the direction of a growing sector.

What they're looking for

• A qualified Architect with strong experience delivering data centre or other mission-critical projects, ideally across hyperscale and/or colocation developments.




• Experience leading complex projects and multidisciplinary design teams from early design stages through to delivery.




• A strong understanding of the technical demands of data centres, including resilience, maintainability, buildability and the coordination of architectural and engineering disciplines.




• The confidence to manage client relationships, lead technical discussions and resolve design and delivery challenges.




• Commercial awareness, with experience contributing to proposals, bids and wider business development.




• A collaborative leadership style, with an interest in mentoring and developing others.
