A Level 1 Teaching Assistant post at Highfield Littleport Academy, a special school for pupils aged 2 to 19, supporting pupils with additional needs in classrooms. What the job involves
- Support teaching and learning with individuals or small groups under the classroom teacher
- Help pupils follow instructions, stay engaged and develop independence in learning and play
- Assist with behaviour support, inclusion and pupils' emotional and social wellbeing
- Prepare and maintain learning environments, resources and displays for lessons
- Contribute to pupil supervision, record keeping, safeguarding and the daily running of school activities
