As a Creative Copywriter at Higherin, you’ll bring ideas to life by writing bold, culturally relevant copy for our student-first campaigns. Developing campaigns from concept to execution across social, digital and live formats, you’ll collaborate with the Lead Copywriter and Creative team to create work that genuinely connects with our target audience.
Core Responsibilities
- Creative Development & Pitches
- Contribute ideas and develop creative concepts for new business pitches and campaign briefs.
- Develop compelling messaging for those creative concepts (taglines/hooks/rationale).
- Turn strategy and market research into standout creative ideas that win new business.
- Collaborate with designers and strategists to bring pitch decks to life, taking ownership of all copy elements in each of your assigned pitches.
- Copywriting & Campaign Delivery
- Write clear, engaging and on-brand copy for clients across a wide range of industries.
- Deliver copy for interactive digital campaigns (e.g. careers websites, competitions) as well as social-first campaigns (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn) and live events (careers fairs, on-campus events).
- Adapt tone of voice for different audiences (Gen Z/Gen Alpha), platforms (web/social) and formats (email/digital/short-form video/live events/etc.).
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivery standards.
- Edit and proofread your copy (and others) to ensure accuracy, consistency and strict adherence to each client’s brand guidelines.
- Research audiences, competitors and cultural trends to inform your creative output.
- Experiment with new writing styles, formats and AI-assisted workflows.
- Proactively bring fresh ideas and campaign concepts to each idea generation session.
- Work closely with designers and wider team members to deliver integrated campaigns.
- Participate in workshops, brainstorms and campaign reviews.
- Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives.
- Execute tasks with the flair and professionalism needed to push Higherin and its clients in the right direction.
Essential Skills and Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in a copywriting or similar role within an agency or in-house team.
- Portfolio or samples of work demonstrating creative thinking and high-quality copy across campaigns and/or a variety of formats.
- Experience writing for a range of formats, ideally including social media and digital-first campaigns.
- Excellent command of written English, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to take a brief from concept through to delivery, working across multiple projects and deadlines.
Amazing (but not essential) if you have
- Experience creating content for student, early careers or school/college audiences.
- Experience with social-first copywriting (e.g. TikTok/Instagram, paid social).
- Familiarity with emerging trends and what’s culturally relevant for Gen Z/Gen Alpha audiences.
