Role Description
The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in London, responsible for overseeing daily production operations for Higher Farm’s ketchup and related products.
This role manages production schedules, ingredients supply chian with our farm manager and farm partners, supervises team members, and ensures that manufacturing processes meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
The Production Manager coordinates raw material supply, monitors equipment performance, and works closely with procurement, logistics, and quality assurance to maintain efficient, cost-effective operations.
They will also implement continuous improvement initiatives, maintain documentation, and support scaling production in line with Higher Farm’s regenerative and sustainability principles.
We are currently expanding our ketchup production facility, and there will be the opportunity for you to be part of this project, helping design the new line which we are setting up to scale our production to our target of 30 tonnes per month by the end of 2027.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in food production management, including supervising teams and coordinating daily operations - ideally with specific experience in condiments.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and compliance with food safety standards (e. g. BRC & SALSA).
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage production schedules and meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyze production data, optimize workflows, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with supply chain, logistics, and quality assurance.
- Comfort working in an on-site, hands-on environment, including occasional physical tasks related to production activities.
- Commitment to regenerative agriculture, sustainability, and healthy food systems; prior experience in a mission-driven or agrifood business is an advantage.
- Relevant educational background in production management, food science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
