We are partnering with one of the UK's leading asset managers and investors in student accommodation to appoint a Technical Project Manager.
Sitting within the Asset Management team, you will oversee capital expenditure projects and provide technical leadership across a substantial PBSA portfolio spanning the UK and Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Delivering capex projects end to end — from feasibility and design through construction, practical completion and handover
- Preparing five-year portfolio maintenance plans
- Appointing and managing architects, cost consultants, project managers and contractors
- Controlling project budgets, programmes, invoices and drawdown forecasts
- Reporting monthly on progress, cost and risk across multiple schemes
- Procuring and overseeing the preparation of Building Safety Cases
- Leading responses to Building Safety Regulator queries
- Supporting the completion and upkeep of golden-thread information
- Ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act and wider technical requirements
- Managing latent-defect rectification, including liaison with external legal teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve building efficiency and reduce operating costs
Qualifications
- A relevant qualification such as MRICS or MCIOB, or equivalent experience
Required Skills
- A background in project management, building surveying or a related technical discipline within real estate
- A strong grasp of project procurement and delivery
- Proven experience managing professional teams, consultants and contractors
- Sharp contract administration, budgeting and cost-control skills
- Working knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Building Safety Cases and golden-thread requirements
- The ability to balance cost, programme, quality and risk across several projects at once
Preferred Skills
- PBSA experience is an advantage, though we’ll also consider candidates from other operational real-estate sectors.
Pay range and compensation package
