A leading and fast-growing student accommodation owner-operator is seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance and Risk Manager to join its team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring operational excellence and compliance across a national portfolio of student residences. The company in twelve years has grown year on year, currently managing a number of sites with over 2000 plus rooms in major UK university cities. With ambitious plans to scale to over 10,000 beds, the business remains committed to creating high-quality, well-managed, and affordable living spaces that allow students to thrive and build lasting friendships in a safe and welcoming environment.
As Compliance and Risk Manager, you will oversee all aspects of compliance across the portfolio. You will work closely with Property Managers, as well as the Asset Management and Development teams, to ensure full regulatory adherence, effective risk management, and continuous improvement of property standards. This role is remote, but the ideal candidate will be based within reach of the Midlands, or Manchester, and must be prepared for regular travel, including monthly visits to sites and the London office. Access to transport links or a car is essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead compliance oversight across all student accommodation sites.
- Collaborate with Property Managers to ensure safety standards and legal requirements are consistently met.
- Support the Asset Management and Development teams on risk mitigation and best practice.
- Conduct audits and contribute to operational improvements.
- Monitor and update company policies in line with evolving regulations.
