I'm working with a fast-growing, institutionally backed real estate investment manager in Central London on an Investment Associate hire. The business is actively deploying across several mandates - UK and European industrial and alternatives - with a new strategy launching and significant capital allocated and ready to deploy. This is a full-cycle role with real deal exposure and technical responsibility from day one. Sourcing, underwriting, executing, presenting to IC. The team has strong analytical support in place - you'll be focused on origination, underwriting and execution. What they need is someone who's out in the market, has relationships with agents, can form a view on a deal quickly and drive the process end to end.
This is an environment that combines the pace of private equity with the close-knit feel of a lean, entrepreneurial team - offering genuine responsibility and clear progression.
Why this role?- Full-cycle ownership - originate, underwrite, execute and take deals through IC; not a support role
- Capital to deploy - multiple live mandates plus a new strategy with several hundred million behind it
- Pan-European exposure - active across the Netherlands, Spain, Germany and France, with scope to shape the pipeline
- Lean team, real access - work directly with senior leadership, no layers, fast decision-making
- Clear progression - opportunity to grow with the platform as it scales and take on more responsibility quickly
- Originate opportunities - build and maintain relationships with agents, vendors and operating partners to drive pipeline
- Underwrite deals - develop and challenge cashflows, assumptions and pricing in Excel with a strong commercial lens
- Lead transactions - manage the process from heads of terms through to completion
- Own the investment narrative - prepare and present IC papers alongside the Investment Director (analysts support on modelling)
- Build the European pipeline - focus on priority markets and develop on-the-ground conviction
- Support strategy execution - contribute to deploying capital across a new mandate from the ground up
- 5–6 years’ real estate investment experience with demonstrable industrial & logistics (or relevant alternatives) deal exposure - sourcing, underwriting and execution
- Real estate-led background - trained at a principal platform, fund or advisory; not purely financial
- Commercially instinctive - able to form a view on a deal quickly, not reliant on long modelling cycles
- Strong technical capability - confident in Excel, able to build and present cashflows
- Market-facing - established relationships with agents and vendors, comfortable operating externally
- European exposure beneficial - particularly Netherlands, Spain, Germany or France
- Self-sufficient and driven - comfortable operating in a lean team with ownership from day one
This is an opportunity to join a well-capitalised platform before it scales, take ownership of transactions and play a key role in its next phase of growth.
