A privately owned real estate investment and development platform is looking to appoint an Investment Manager to join its team. With a proven track record across c.£1bn of development value, the business has invested in, funded and delivered complex projects across London and the South East. Entrepreneurial and well-capitalised, it focuses on planning-led acquisitions, joint ventures and forward funding structures, with an active pipeline across the living sector and mixed-use opportunities.
The role offers broad exposure across the full investment lifecycle, from origination and underwriting through to delivery and disposal. Working closely with senior decision makers, you'll play a key role in evaluating new opportunities, structuring transactions and supporting developments through each stage of the investment process.
Key responsibilities:- Support the origination and appraisal of new investment opportunities
- Lead financial modelling for acquisitions and development appraisals
- Carry out investment analysis and due diligence on prospective transactions
- Prepare investment papers and support transaction execution
- Analyse debt and equity funding structures
- Work alongside planning and development teams through delivery
- Monitor project performance and contribute to reporting throughout the development lifecycle
- Support exit strategies and disposal analysis
- Investment professional with experience across the living sector
- Strong financial modelling skills, with the ability to run quick back-of-envelope appraisals as well as full underwriting
- Exposure to joint ventures, forward funding, planning-led acquisitions or complex development transactions
- Comfortable operating at pace in a business where decisions are made quickly
- Highly entrepreneurial, driven by upside tied to a promote on deals
- Front-facing, comfortable representing the business externally rather than just desk-based analysis
- Proficient in Excel and Argus, with the commercial judgement to back the numbers
- Additional asset class experience (commercial/mixed-use) is a plus
