I am currently looking for an Assistant Development Manager to join one of the most active and well capitalised Investment Managers in the BTR market. With a focus on Single Family Housing, this institutionally backed company partners with a range of House Builders and Developers to acquire land and forward fund the development and delivery of units to be held under management.
The Assistant Development Manager will have involvement throughout the development lifecycle but will focus on the delivery of projects. Ultimately you will be tasked to oversee and ensure the successful delivery of projects in line with the company's objectives and ensure the Development partners are kept in check.
Ideally, the Assistant Development Manager will have some experience in Real Estate Development, but they would also look at recent graduates with a construction related degree.
The main responsibilities of the Assistant Development Manager will include:
- Managing projects on-site from acquisition through to completion.
- Regular reporting to key stakeholders across the business.
- Managing and monitoring project scope, time, and cost.
- Reviewing specifications at underwriting, acquisition, and delivery stages.
- Processing stage payments in line with the contracts.
- Appointing required consultants for new projects, including Employer’s Agents (EA) and Clerks of Works (CoW).
- Attending regular meetings on-site with the EA.
- Managing the EA and developer relationships to ensure new business opportunities are available.
- Ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures on-site.
- Managing and reporting developer and EA performance, and escalating under-performance as needed.
- Ensuring compliance handover documentation is retained and filed for the Operations team.
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- Experience working within the Real Estate sector with development or construction experience.
- A Real Estate related degree, construction or Project Management preferable.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
- A full driver's license.
Salary and Package: £30,000 - £40,000, Discretionary Bonus, Travel allowance or access to company car.
