Our client is a London-based stealth start-up using agentic AI to automate and disrupt the $210BN supply chain and freight forwarding industry. This ambitious company has closed a pre-seed round of $2.4m. Their investors backed AI leaders like Synthesia, Genie AI, Superlinked, Plain, Signal AI, Dust.tt & MindsDB. Founded in early 2025 by supply chain and AI experts, they are looking for ambitious, mission-driven builders to join them in creating the next generation of automation technology from the ground up and redefine the global supply chain.
As the Founding Platform Engineer you will build the foundational layer that the technology is built upon. You will create the architecture and infrastructure that enables the AI-driven supply chain automation and ensure that all systems work together seamlessly. This is a full-time position working in the Kennington, London office 4+ days per week.
Responsibilities- Architect and implement the core platform foundation that powers the entire technology stack, from AI agents to APIs to workflows to integrations.
- Set up and manage the cloud infrastructure using AWS, Docker containerisation, and Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform.
- Build robust data integration infrastructure to connect the platform with various customer systems (TMS, RMS, etc.) and external APIs.
- Implement the workflow orchestration layer to ensure reliable execution of complex agentic behaviours across many business processes.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability across the platform to ensure reliability.
- Partner with Product and AI Engineers to both understand business needs and create the technical foundation that enables our AI-driven workflows.
- Experience building end-to-end platform solutions that integrate workflow orchestration systems (like Airflow, Temporal, AWS Step Functions) with real-world business processes and data pipelines.
- Strong background in integration engineering and data modelling.
- Exceptional Python skills for building APIs, services, and data processing pipelines.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) including implementing monitoring and observability.
- Knowledge of AI engineering workflows - particularly understanding how to build reliable systems around LLMs.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to navigate the challenges of creating a reliable foundation for complex business workflows.
