Join Our Team as a Head Veterinary Receptionist! Are you ready to put pets first? At CVS Vets, we make pets a priority every day! We are on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate animal enthusiast to step into the role of a Head Veterinary Receptionist at our Highcroft Veterinary Hospital.

Role Details:

  • Location: To be based at our Whitchurch Hospital - 615 Wells Road, Whitchurch, Bristol, BS14 9BE
  • Contract: 9 Month Fixed Term Contract, with the potential to extend further
  • Hours: 33.5 hours per week
  • Shift Pattern: Tuesday - Friday, working a varied shift pattern, with a 1:4 share in the Weekend rota
  • Start Date: June 2026

About the Role:

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Receptionist team, including training and providing support and guidance
  • Being point of contact for complaints and escalations
  • Line management and conducting team 1-2-1's/check-ins
  • Creating and managing the team rota
  • Supporting with Recruitment and liaising with the internal recruitment team

Additional Day-to-day duties of the role will include:

  • Answering phones and booking appointments
  • Responding to queries via phone, in person and email
  • Registering new clients
  • Completing insurance forms
  • Dispensing medications
  • Taking payments
  • Providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Previous Receptionist experience is essential, veterinary experience is a plus!
  • Leadership skills would be highly desirable
  • Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  • An excellent communicator with strong empathy
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
  • A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
