Exotics Veterinary Nurse – Highcroft, Whitchurch | Salary £28k‐£32k, Full‐time

Life at Highcroft Whitchurch: Highcroft Whitchurch is a busy 24‐hour hospital, supported by a passionate team of vets, nurses, PCAs and receptionists. You'll work alongside exotics nurses most of the week, with rotating support from the wider hospital team. Our dedicated exotics vets are on site, with further recruitment underway to expand the team.
We offer a specialist exotics environment, with:
- Separate exotic wards
- Specialist vivaria, aquaria, and large‐species housing
- State‐of‐the‐art surgical suite
- Access to digital X‐ray, CT scanner, endoscopy, ultrasound, and MRI
- On‐site emergency team for continuous support
Our caseload is diverse, ranging from snakes, lizards and tortoises, to fish, frogs, and even meerkats – no two days are ever the same.
About You: We're looking for a dedicated Exotics Veterinary Nurse to join our Whitchurch team. To thrive in this role, you will:
- Be confident working with exotic species
- Bring at least 2+ years' experience
- Demonstrate strong clinical standards and exceptional patient care
Desirable Skills:
- Previous exotics experience
- Exotics certificate (or willingness to undertake one; support available)
Day‐to‐Day Responsibilities:
- Inpatient care for a wide range of exotic species
- Support with consults, procedures, and operations
- Contribute to a high clinical standard across exotic and small animal cases
