Due to continued growth, our city based client is looking to recruit a Junior Procurement Assistant to work closely with the Head of Procurement. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is organised, confident, and full of common sense, with a real roll your sleeves up attitude. The Role
- Support the day to day procurement function, helping to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Providing centralised administrative support to the procurement team, including booking meetings, arranging transport and deliveries, and handling internal enquiries.
- Creating and managing purchase orders.
- Resolving escalated invoice queries and responding to supplier enquiries.
- Onboarding and setting up new suppliers, including database administration.
- Acting as a key link between the procurement team, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting low value tender exercises.
- Producing regular procurement reports.
- Ensuring supplier and vendor information is accurate and kept up to date within procurement systems.
Experience & Skills
- Enthusiasm, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
- Previous experience working within a construction environment.
- Supply Chain or Procurement experience (preferred but not essential).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to learn and develop.
- Confidence using systems and databases (experience with Procore would be an advantage, but is not essential).
- An understanding of the importance of delivering a first class service.
- UK Driving Licence.
