We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Technical/Design Manager to join our client, an esteemed family-owned company, which has been thriving since its inception in 2014. Based out of the Norwich office, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our growth within the Facade, Roofing, and general building sectors.
As a Design and Technical Manager, you will lead projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring that we deliver our signature friendly and professional service. This is more than just a management position; it’s a chance to be a vital part of our senior management team, helping to shape the future of our fast-expanding construction business.
Key Responsibilities:- Overseeing the entire design process, from concept to final delivery.
- Addressing any issues or challenges that arise during the design process.
- Guiding and mentoring design team members, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings in line with program specifications and budget requirements using AutoCAD.
- Ensuring that all design outputs meet the highest quality standards and align with the company's brand and goals.
- Work alongside the Planning/Building Control Departments throughout the process, ensuring the provision of accurate technical information for applications.
- Managing resources and timelines to ensure efficient project execution.
- Oversee the resolution of technical design and construction issues, controlling design variations and requests for further information throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with clients and key stakeholders regarding relevant technical matters.
- Ensure the accurate and complete handover of technical information at project completion or designated phases.
- Promote a safe working environment by adhering to the Company Health & Safety Policy, safeguarding yourself, colleagues, third parties, and the public.
- HNC/HND or an equivalent qualification.
- Honours degree in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in CAD/Revit.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience in the design of roofing, facades, and general construction.
- Strong understanding of design and engineering principles in construction.
- In-depth technical and building construction knowledge.
- Familiarity with Building Regulations.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and CDM Regulations.
