Houston Hot Chicken is all about bold flavour, great people and seriously good food. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for ambitious Shift Managers to help lead our Dark Kitchen team and keep every shift running hot.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll lead the team, keep orders moving and make sure every dish leaving the kitchen hits our standards. You’ll be right in the action, making decisions, solving problems and creating a fast‑paced environment where your team can thrive.
What you’ll do
- Lead, motivate and support the team throughout every shift
- Keep service running smoothly, ensuring orders are prepared quickly and accurately
- Take ownership of food quality, speed and operational standards
- Manage the flow of orders from kitchen to collection and delivery
- Coach and develop Team Members through hands‑on support and feedback
- Step in, make decisions and solve problems when things get busy
- Ensure food safety, health & safety and company standards are maintained at all times
- Manage shift handovers, stock controls and daily operational routines
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised, stocked and ready for action
What we’re looking for
- Experience in a supervisory, team leader or shift management position
- A passion for food, quality and getting things right
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Confidence working in a fast‑paced kitchen, takeaway or QSR environment
- Great organisation and attention to detail
- A hands‑on approach and willingness to get stuck in wherever needed
- The confidence to make decisions and keep the team moving
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude
